Twenty years old had always been an important age throughout human history. It carried with it a certain rite of passage, aside from the fact that two decades was a long time. But there was something bigger to it than that, or more specifically smaller. Within every civilization's written records was the fact that on a person's twentieth birthday there was a chance they could shrink.
The sporadic phenomenon continued to baffle scientists, so much so that they still hadn't linked it to any traceable gene or condition. Adding to the confusion was the fact that the frequency of people shrinking had taken a sharp decline over the past few decade
Sage watched the human boy through his peephole. The boy looked to be around thirteen or so, which made him the same age as Sage. It was hard to tell though since humans were so much bigger.
If Sage’s parents were still around they would probably have been angry with him for watching a human like this. All it would take is one sneeze caused by the dust inside the walls at just the right moment, and Sage would be discovered.
But, his parents weren’t around anymore.
Sage had already borrowed plenty of food for the next week. For that matter he also had plenty of supplies like yarn and paperclips as well.
This led to Sage being b
“Jane, you can’t do this!” Thomas shouted as he struggled to keep up with her.
“There’s no time for discussion, Thomas.” Jane had already reached the control panel and looked grim. She flipped a switch. “Projector is priming.”
“We can’t use this, Jane! It’s too experimental.”
“And if we don’t, that meteor shower will hit the Earth.” Jane continued to adjust the controls. “The missile defenses failed to destroy or divert the shower. This will work.”
Thomas grabbed Jane’s arm, prompting her to look him in the face.
“But at what
The forest path offered beauty and serenity. With green-golden bars of the afternoon sunlight filtering down like intangible curtains, it was like it intentionally led down a specific path. The trees gave each other space, leaving room between them for little meadows and patches of wildflowers. The breeze over the canopy changed the dappled light patterns on the dirt of the deer-worn path.
Adrian regretted coming out here. With every step he found himself just as lost on the winding path as before.
Checking his phone for a signal, he frowned and hummed in displeasure. He hadn’t planned on being out here this long. He’d thought h

Control. To Colfax, it was a precious commodity. Control over his environment, control over his resources, control over every single pattern of his life. He often told himself that in many cases, being in control of his situation was more important than anything else. It tended to make him a cold, calculating person, and the solitary life of a viri suited him to a T.
Colfax heard the signs of the second wave of morning classes getting out. That meant that the halls of the university building would soon be filling with college students. He sighed and glanced at the door of the supply closet. He'd restocked his bag with new safety pins, some s
Chapter 2
You could really easily tell when someone was walking into the store. The whole town got quiet, and those that were outside quickly fled indoors. Not that being inside saved them, really. The giants and their science had everything set up ‘perfectly’ to create good matches. After a talk with whoever enters, the customer sits down at a computer and fills out a bit of information about themselves. I know this because I had to do something similar. After a while it brings up possible matches and it’s all up to the giant to decide.
Hearing the jingle of the door opening and closing, I couldn’t care much at firs

Nellie O'Nine and the Giants PART 34
Nellie woke up pain stricken, her body stiff and sore. Amazing how sleeping with your neck turned the wrong way and your hand twisted just enough to cut of circulation can cause so much discomfort.
It took her a second to remember where she was, which was in the hall closet, no longer in the corner of her former best friend’s room.
After having had the night to think about things she still couldn’t decide how she felt. Colton is her best friend or at least he was. How can a friendship that took years to grow be destroyed after a few hours? She didn’t want it to be that way. She wanted to stay friends. But now it seems like

Leo was given a proper burial in an unmarked grave well beyond the boundaries of Torensa. There had been no service, no talk, just the burial. Dara knew nobody else thought he deserved even that much, and she was not sure she really disagreed with them. Yet, despite everything, he was still blood, so she would not leave him to be torn apart by scavenging beasts. She had been raised better than that.
With Celia's help, they had managed to coax the sleipnir into Torensa where it was given shelter and a paddock to recover in. Dara and Celia never did find out what happened to the other animals of Felrein Circus. They could only hope s

Chapter 14
Dara gazed at her reflection in the mirror, straightening her hair one last time. She had never been particularly concerned with appearances, but tonight would be the first night she and Gavin could actually spend some quality time together. Their plan was to take some blankets out to a nearby field, and just lay out under the stars for a bit. She was not sure if it truly counted as a date, but it was certainly the closest she (and Gavin, for that matter) had ever come to a real courtship.
She had refused Agnes's offer to help with hair and makeup, for such things would just look silly compared with her plain outfit. It was the s
